Finally

Another chapter closed. On Monday afternoon, I spoke with the hiring partner at the firm I worked for this summer and informed her that I would not be accepting their offer. Yesterday, I called the hiring partner at a different firm and accepted an offer. The job I accepted is very near to everything I wanted when I started this law school adventure. I came to law school to get a job. I got the one I wanted. It's nice to finally have that drama behind me.

For 2Ls out there, I say bookmark this. Hopefully, your summer experience will be everything you wished for and more. But it doesn't always work out that way, and you're not obligated to return if it's not the right fit. Oddly enough, what Career Services types say about the firm trying to persuade you that they're the right place for you as much as you are trying to persuade them to hire you turns out to be true. Ten months from now, if you are thinking of interviewing as a 3L and have questions about the issues involved, feel free to drop me a line. It's a different experience in some ways. For me, it was the right thing to do.

Shallow Alto, here I come.
