11th Commandment

Thou Shalt Not Pass Up Opportunities.

It's 5 o'clock in the A.M. It's about 32 degrees, before wind. It's very windy. I'm sitting in front of the Supreme Court for the second time this week, waiting for the oral arguments in Van Orden v. Perry and McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky, the 10 Commandments cases. I've been here just shy of two hours. I'm 24th on the list, so I'm fairly confident I'll get in.

I'll report back this afternoon with impressions of the cases. Until then.

Background on the cases: Wednesday's Arguments in Van Orden v. Perry and McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky (SCOTUSBlog, excellent as usual).

Free wireless at the USSC, courtest of Open Park.

Fingers cold, more later.
