Not Your Father's Bar Review
For the last three years, "Bar Review" has signified a law school sponsored happy hour every Thursday night. I didn't attend many, but I went to enough to get the general idea. You can imagine my shock on Tuesday morning when I showed up for my BarBri course, plastic mug in hand, only to find out it was an educational thing. There I was expecting some sort of large-scale "kegs & eggs" type of event, with lawyer larvae from all sorts of schools -- one last bacchanal before the real work begins. I didn't even have a pen with me, and I had yet to acquire the 375 lbs. of books I was supposed to have read already.
To make it worse, I had to drive an hour each way (it was on the 405, so it was maybe 6 miles round trip?) to pick up the books I thought I'd be able to get at the first day of class.
People keep coming up to me and asking why I look so miserable, and what's wrong. What's wrong? I'm still in law school. I thought I graduated already. I even gave a speech and everything. It's summer in southern California; it's beautiful outside; and I'm still in law school for a ridiculously long finals period during which, if I follow instructions, I won't be allowed more than 38.5 minutes of non-study time per day. I don't understand why everyone doesn't share my dismay.

Bitching gets me through the day. Hell, that's what most personal blogs are all about. Quit reading if that's a problem for you.

the only thing worse than the commute have been Chemerinsky's bad puns, which he would say, "pun"-ctuate his lectures.

Chemmy's puns are part of his charm. I don't think you can learn Con Law without them.
