Study Music: Eclectica

For the most part, I'm trying to spend as much time as I can studying. When I'm not studying, I'm often either trying to study and failing, or pretending to study and succeeding. Since many people who read this aren't fellow bar review sufferers, I'm leaving out the play-by-play.* Generally, then, that leaves not much to report.

At least not much of substance.

My study music selection this afternoon -- at least until my ipod battery ran out -- was an odd mix. I'll report on that. It was:
+ Simian, We Are Your Friends
+ Blackalicious, Blazing Arrow
+ Carl Orff, Carmina Burana (performed by the London Symphony Orchestra)

The battery died about 3 seconds into some Modest Mouse. I generally listen to whole albums, rather than picking individual songs or creating playlists, which makes me something of a rarity among people I know. I think if I were picking individual songs, I might not make such drastic changes in style from one to the next, but 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes of one artist/genre usually leaves me satisfied enough to move on to something completely different.

Isn't that exciting?

*Anyone interested in bar review play-by-play should really check out A Girl Walks Into a Bar (Exam). She's also studying for the California bar, and is doing an excellent job of documenting the whole craptacular summer experience. No need for me to rehash it since she's generally spot-on (though possibly more studious than I am).

Thanks! Craptacular is indeed the word for it.
