Gone Fishin'

The bar happened. More importantly, the bar ended.

I've been meaning to say something here about that issue, but spare time has been short, and I haven't really had a chance to gather my thoughts in a noteworthy manner.

Since the bar, I packed up my things and moved my summer abode in the O.C. to my new apartment in San Francisco. We drove up on Sunday and got the keys, and the movers arrived early Monday morning. No breathing room, really.

THis afternoon, some moron smashed the side of my car in the one hour I was parked on the street instead of in the garage. Welcome to the neighborhood indeed. He failed to leave a note of apology or to provide me with his insurance information, which would have been helpful in repairing the hole he tore in my fender (literally... there's a gaping hole. I can't even quite fathom how he did this) or the big red scrapes on he left on the side of my green car.

Never a dull moment.

In just a few hours, I'm leaving for three and a half weeks in Australia and New Zealand. Even at this late point, I'm still up in the air about whether or not I'll be taking my laptop, as I wasn't able to find the right power adapter for the trip (but probably could find it when I get down to Oz). In addition to storing the gigs of photos I plan to take, I'd like to have the computer with me to do some writing, and possibly connect to the internets. But if I can't use it, I'd rather not have the 5 extra pounds in my bag. We'll see.

If I end up connected, I'll probably pop in here to say hello. Else it will be a few weeks before anything new shows up. About par for the course, really.

On the off chance you'll be in any of the following places in the next three weeks, do drop me an email [buddha AT jewishbuddha DOT org]. Australia: Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Ayers Rock. New Zealand: yet to be decided, but I'll be working my way from Auckland to Christchurch.

When I get back to San Francisco, I'll be in town for less than 48 hours before leaving again for NYC, Boston, and Philadelphia.

I can relax next year, I guess.

Congrats on finishing the bar. I'm sure you've earned it!
